The school encourages students to develop an interest in music. They are offered a multitude of orchestral instruments to choose from, catering to their individual genres and styles. Training is provided for both Indian and Western instruments, including guitar, drums, tabla, santoor, sitar, harmonium, and keyboard.
Students also engage in creating their own music and providing background scores for school theatrical performances. The school encourages promising singers to undergo voice training. The music room is always reverberating with the strains of classical ragas, folk songs, and Western numbers. The school band presents beautiful orchestral renditions during annual functions, TEDx events, and other school programs.
Club members work year-round to deliver performances of excellence, revolving around a variety of themes. The dance styles covered include Indian folk, semi-classical, contemporary, and Western styles.
In theatre, students explore acting and directing plays. The students in the club have showcased their talent in annual productions and numerous in-house theatrical performances. Students are encouraged to find their artistic voices, to become theater-makers and performers creating innovative, original, and relevant work.
Communication skills are vital for all young people, both to succeed in their education and in later life. Students today not only need to have the skill needed to understand the information being presented, they need to have the skills to research through different sources, critically analyse the information presented and form their own conclusions and arguments as a result.
Debating Club contributes not only to educational achievement but also to a range of wider outcomes that work towards developing more confident and well-rounded individual. Students get opportunity to compete at school, regional level competitions. These competitions provide students with the opportunity to represent their house, school and compete at the highest levels. In turn, they share the skills they acquire at competitions with other students. In last four years, our school won several championship titles in debating.
Dikshant was established in the year 2002 with 35 children and a handful of teachers. At Dikshant, we consider it our responsibility to bring out the talents of our students, broaden their interests, and develop their personal qualities.
