Creative Arts

DESIGN AND PRINTING

In Design and printing activity, students are taught how to:

  1. Select suitable techniques for different styles and types of Textile designs according to the latest trends.
  2. Illustrate various types of designs and techniques in different colour media
  3. Implement craft based work for fabrics
  4. Collect and record Traditional designs

POTTERY

Pottery and clay modelling are very competitive hobbies in the school. Students use the latest techniques and instruments to try and outdo each other and win awards in school competitions. Students have access to the best quality clay. Trained faculty teaches them how to prepare the clay for modelling. They learn to make pottery both by using the potter’s wheel and also without it. They are taught to dry the vessels and models under fire and trained to give finishing touch to them.

CLAY MODELLING

Students have access to the best quality clay. Trained faculty teaches them how to prepare the clay for modelling. They learn to make pottery both by using the potter’s wheel and also without it. They are taught to dry the vessels and models under fire and how to put finishing touches to them. Clay modelling is suspended during winter due to uniform problems

PAINTING

Many students take to painting while at Dikshant School and gain a lot of expertise under the guidance of our Art Faculty. The best paintings are on display in the school corridors and are also especially exhibited during Founder’s Day. The painters also have access to special lessons on how to make good posters, collages and cartoons Other than crayons and watercolours, students also learn to make pastels, sketches, batik and glass painting. Art plays an important element in formative minds and encourages creativity and alternative ways of looking at objects.

SCULPTURE

Wood and stone sculpting has a small but dedicated group of enthusiasts in the school. The school produces all the materials and carving tools required for the activity like gouges saws, chisels and mallets. They are taught to use abrasives and finishes correctly. The sculptures made by the students range from just a few inches to as much as a few feet in height. The expertise of the students is testimony the fact that traditional hobbies can not only co-exist but also thrive beside more modern and technological pastimes.

STONE CARVING

Unleashing Creativity Through Stone Carving

At Dikshant, students immerse themselves in the timeless art of stone carving, transforming raw stone into beautiful works of art. Guided by skilled instructors, they learn the techniques and craftsmanship needed to shape and detail their creations. This hands-on experience fosters artistic expression while enhancing patience, precision, and perseverance. Through this ancient craft, our students discover the joy of bringing their imaginative visions to life, one chisel stroke at a time.

METAL WORK

In metal work activity students are taught the design process for crafting metal components and sculptures. They learn to select materials and measure them using the precision equipment before gaining hands-on experience operating metal working tools. Safety rules are strongly emphasised, including the use of safety equipment such as goggles or a face shield.

PAPER MACHE

The joy in using one’s own hands to create something beautiful out of waste material is incomparable. A large number of students work on paper mache. They create paper mache themselves by recycling old waste paper, old cloth and blades of glass through a ‘beater’ machine and ‘calendar machine’. They then create different models and art objects using the paper mache they have made themselves. These paper mache objects are then enhanced by various means like oil painting. The experience and joy of utilising waste material to create something useful helps students understand and appreciate the simplicity and beauty of nature.

AERO MODELLING

Aero modelling activity gives the opportunity to introduce this fascinating sport and hobby to young students (age 10+ years). The activity is dedicated to learn the technology behind making of aircraft along with hands-on exposure in designing and building a model airplane.

Ship modelling activity gives the opportunity to introduce this fascinating sport and hobby to young students (age 10+ years). The activity is dedicated to learn the technology behind making of ship crafts along with hands-on exposure in designing and building model ships.

ANIMATION

The Animation Studio brings imagination to life through traditional and computer animated films, children learn to create beautiful and timeless films through the art of story telling, the magic of animation and the signs of cutting edge technology.

PRODUCTION AND EDITING

At Dikshant School, our students delve into the captivating world of movie making, where creativity meets technology. Through hands-on experiences in production and editing, they learn the intricacies of storytelling through film. From scripting and storyboarding to filming and post-production, our comprehensive program covers every aspect of the filmmaking process. Guided by industry professionals, students gain practical skills in camera work, sound design, and digital editing. This immersive experience not only enhances their technical abilities but also fosters teamwork, critical thinking, and artistic expression.

PHOTOGRAPHY

When students join photography department they are taught about speed, aperture and other features of the camera. They work along with their senior fellow member and are given formal lessons of photography. Thus they pick up and develop an eye for photography and learn to capture light and shadow. Every year the department puts up an exhibition on the Founder’s Day. Students of the department go for outings and work on given projects. Thus in addition to photography, they also learn about the people and their lifestyle in villages. The basic objective of these outings is to make the students aware of the outer world and nature giving them a break from their routine life.

CREATIVE WRITING

At Dikshant School, our students are diving into the world of creative writing, where their imaginations take flight and their voices shine.
